Supporting the development of Level 2 coaches.
Oxfordshire RFU is committed to offering a coaching development service, from helping volunteers who want to coach on a Sunday morning to assisting people who aim to reach a professional coaching standard.
Coaching is one of the most crucial factors in developing, sustaining and increasing participation in rugby union, securing the future and quality of the English game. To be an effective coach, you will need to fulfil a number of different roles, covering the technical, tactical, physical and mental aspects demanded by our game.
England Rugby Development Officer Dave Larham said, "We want to support the development of our Level 2 coaches working in the XV-A-Side Game by providing a series of Advanced Coaching CPD Workshops in Oxfordshire. Ideally our coaches will book all four CPDs as they naturally follow a path of understanding the player, developing the player, developing an appropriate game plan and then analysing performance. This is an excellent opportunity for coaches to continue to develop in a candidate-centred environment with like-minded people. All four courses can also be used towards Coach Licensing and prerequisite to apply for Level 3."

Goal Setting:
To reach a desired outcome with accuracy requires goal setting, a method of planning, committing and delivering actions rather than wishes. The process to achieving a long term goal is to break it down into medium and short term goals that lead to the eventual outcome required. These goals help to monitor progress, to motivate and to identify a range of factors that motivate individuals through goal setting. This module helps coaches develop these skills.
