Banbury RUFC 17 Oxford University Greyhounds 12.
Banbury RUFC made it a second consecutive County Cup win in a pulsating final at Iffley Road.
The Bulls dominated the early stages with forward dominance and creative play in midfield to take an early lead. But it was the Greyhounds who persevered with their technical accuracy to finish the half with a well deserved try and set up an exciting second half.
Banbury again dominated the physical exchanges to deny Greyhounds possession and territory, and complete a memorable 17 - 12 win.
Bulls Captain Ian Isham lifted the Cup with his team deserving the win. Fly-half Sam Stoop produced a strong performance with tactical kicking, creative handling and a strong defence; while talisman Matt Goode gave Banbury several line breaks and a rock solid defence.
We would like to thank Iffley Road, Doug & Jenny Bosley and their volunteers for hosting an excellent evening of entertainment for an appreciative crowd.
