The RFU Community Rugby Injury Surveillance Project (CRISP) involves the collection of information on match play injuries occurring in the English community game which is essential in the development of future injury management strategies in the game.
We are currently recruiting English community clubs competing within RFU playing levels 3-9 to participate in the Project for the 2013-2014. All participating clubs will be asked to report following information throughout the 2013-2014 season:
- A list of players involved playing in each 1st XV match
- All 1st team players to complete a 15 min questionnaire once at the start of the season
- Details on any 1st XV match injuries which prevent the injured player from playing for at least one week after the injury
During pre-season the CRISP team are also visiting a number of clubs to test players for functional movement screening and fitness testing for which we require access to the players over one full training session. Please note that due to popular demand, testing sessions are only available from late August onwards and extending into September.
Benefits of participating:
- Clubs will receive a report of their match injuries for the season, including how the club’s injury patterns compare with other clubs of a similar level.
- Membership to the IRB Rugby Science Network
(http://www.irbsciencenetwork.com)- Monthly prize draw for completed form returns You will be making a valuable contribution to the understanding of injury patterns in English Community rugby
