A new season:
The past year as your President has been most enjoyable I have been made most welcome,
I will make sure I visit the other clubs this season, and as many of the other clubs again as possible.
The past season has been a good one for our clubs and County in general with Henley, Grove and Stow on the Wold who is a non-voting member of our County all gaining promotion, Grove having 3 teams promoted, I congratulate them and wish them well in their new league season.
Oxford Harlequins lost their fight to stay at level 5 which means we now have no clubs at that Level, but we do have 3 clubs at level 6 Harlequins, Witney and Grove this should provide some interesting derby games I am looking forward to them.
Our Senior side found it a bit hard going I must congratulate the players and coaches for the effort they all put in not giving up and going out to win their last game. The U20’s were excellent getting through to their final only to lose 17-12 a wonderful achievement by the players and coaches. All the signs are there for both teams to take their game to the next level, good luck to you all.
I would like to thank the County Executive Committee and clubs for all the support you have given me over the past year.
Finally as you are aware I have stood down as your County Secretary after some 8 years in the role. Again I must thank the County Executive Committee and all the club members that
supported me over the years, without it the job would be impossible.
I wish Carol Bradbrook-Taylor your new County Secretary all the very best that role and I know you will all support her in the same way you done to myself.
I wish you all the very best of luck for the 2013-14 season.
Ken Bumpass
