This Girl Can....Can You?
Girls rugby is growing each year.
The Oxfordshire Girls Development Programme has the aim to.
*Create an environment that players want to be involved in, and club coaches and School teachers support
*To develop players in terms of individual skill and game understanding
*Success in performance on the field
*Progress players from Schools through Club & County in to the Divisional programme
This programme will be open to girls from rugby clubs, schools and other sports.
It is open to all girls, no matter of their ability, from Year 7 to Year 13’s. We will have specialist coaches coming in, who have coached at all levels. Those girls that have played rugby before will be challenged to develop further; while those new to the game will have a fantastic opportunity to gain knowledge and enjoy the game.
We have 5 dates spread across 8 months, the first session being Sunday 26th February at Grove RFC from 1pm to 4pm. This session will look at warm ups, core body strength exercises and ball handling. We have Kevin Moggridge from the South-West Divisional Ladies helping out throughout the session.
In April, we hope to have Kevin Moggridge again, and Gary Street, ex England Women World Cup Winning Coach and current Oxford University Women Head Coach.
If you are a volunteer and are interested in helping with the programme, or just want to come along and use it as a CPD session, please contact Gary Morris for more details.
