Sussex and Oxfordshire set for clash
10am Division Three Final between Oxfordshire RFU and Sussex RFU.
Oxfordshire's 29-30 loss to Essex in our second pool game looked likely to cost us a place in the final but we qualified at the top of our group, one point clear of Essex who lost to Buckinghamshire 17-22 in their final match. We last appeared in a Twickenham Final in 2006.
Sussex overcame Berkshire 19-13 and Dorset & Wilts 28-10 to book their place in the final.
Ones to watch
Oxfordshire's Matthew Goode has played twice at Twickenham. The centre played for Oxfordshire in the 2003 Plate final as well as for Northampton in the Middlesex Sevens. He represented England at U18 level and Oxfordshire from U13s to U20s.
Sussex full-back Maxx Morris, a barista, played at Hartpury College before a spell a spell in New Zealand playing for Pleasant Point RFC and appeared at divisional and sevens level for South Canterbury. His county debut against Dorset & Wiltshire earlier this month was extra special. He was not only on the winning side but scored one of his team’s four tries.
