26 candidates attended the CPD at Chinnor RFC.
Coaches and match officials from across Oxfordshire joined RFU Match Official Development Officer Clare Daniels and RFU Coach Educator Nick Todd for the Developing Coaches & Match Officials CPD last night at Chinnor RFC.
The CPD was hosted in Oxfordshire following a request at an Oxfordshire RFU Member Clubs Meeting to support the development of referees, to reduce the potential number of XV-a-Side fixtures being postponed due to a shortage of qualified referees.
Funded by Oxfordshire RFU, Oxfordshire Society of Rugby Football Referees and the RFU, six match officials and twenty coaches from clubs and schools variously involved in RFU Targeted Work, CBRE All Schools and university rugby enjoyed some lively discussions and debate around the learning outcomes.
All those that attended will now be able to identify strategies to create and maintain rapport, introduce effective communication through appropriate use of questioning and listening skills, facilitate feedback to coaches and match officials for performance improvement and support other coaches and match officials in the identification of personal action plans.
We would like to thank Chinnor RFC for hosting the event, and Clare Daniels and Nick Todd for their expert delivery of a CPD which will ultimately result in an improved volunteer workforce, both whilst match officiating and coaching, across a range of levels within the county.
