Ken Bumpass:
President’s Message
This appointment was a very unexpected honour to be elected the new President of the Oxfordshire RFU, 7 years ago when I first joined the County if someone would have said one day I would become President I would said they were talking out of the back of their head but here I am surprised and very proud. My predecessors have set a high standard to live up too, I will do my very best to maintain that standard and I am very much looking forward to the next 2 years. The added honour for me and the County is that Paul Murphy will be the President of the RFU for this year a well-deserved appointment
This past season has been a good one for Chinnor being promoted to National 2 and Harwell’s undefeated league season and South West cup winner’s also promoted are Alcester 2nd and Bicester 2nd I wish them all the very best for 2012-13 season. The County Senior XV did very well, Rob Walsh, Rich Williams and Craig Burrows did an excellent job in getting such a competitive squad together given they had no call on Chinnor 1st XV players availability due to their league play-off. The U20’s also did very well, there continuing improvement year on year is in no doubt down the commitment of the players and coaching staff and my thanks must go to Nick Cole and his staff and of course the players.
I would now like to thank all of my colleagues on the County Executive Committee for all their help and support over the past years. Working alongside them is a pleasure I know they will have something to say about that, such as you are not allowed to enjoy yourself, but that sort of comment is what makes being a part of the Executive Committee so enjoyable.
I am looking forward to visiting as many clubs and meeting their committee and club members as possible during my tenure as president.
I wish you all the very best of luck for 2012-13 and hope you all achieve the goals you set
yourselves.
Thank you all for your support.
