Charity Hike and Bike Ride from Twickenham to Stourbridge Rugby Club.
Together We Can Make A Difference
From Dick Whittington to the World of Rugby
The journey begins from Twickenham Headquarters of the RFU to Stourbridge Rugby Club finishing in time for the famous May lunch, the largest rugby club lunch outside of London.
As you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer at the beginning of February 2017 and was cared for by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham to a stable condition and am now in remission.
I decided, as a result of the wonderful treatment I had received, to raise money for the QEHB alongside Prostate Cancer UK in April/May 2018 by walking around 130 miles from Gloucestershire to London's Mansion House - the Dick Whittington route - and raised £61,500, well above our target of £50,000 thanks to many generous and supportive people.
I still have an appetite to give back to the QEHB Charity and now I'd like to also raise money for the RFU's Injured Players Foundation (IPF) who support rugby players with catastrophic injuries.
I realise we are asked almost daily for donations towards various causes but I believe we can raise, not only funds but, awareness for these two great charities.
On this website are ways you can help by donating through Gift Aid, tax efficient donations or, more importantly, by clicking the "Register" button where you can actively participate by walking and cycling with us.

BIKING SCHEDULE 8TH TO 10TH MAY 2019
Summary
Peter has included an opportunity for cyclists to undertake a charity ride from Twickenham Stadium to Stourbridge Rugby Club. The route will include visits to a number of Rugby Clubs on the journey.
When? A 3 day cycle starting Wednesday 8 May and finishing at Stourbridge Rugby Club’s Lunch on 10 May (date to be confirmed).
How far? Circa 175 miles with roughly 70+ miles for the first 2 days and around 30 miles for the last day which will finish in time to attend the Lunch. Participants can join for however many days they wish.
Where do participants stay in between the walks? Participants taking part will be given a list of bed and breakfast/hotels on the route that the team will be using to make their own bookings. The first day will begin around 8.00 am and all riders would need to be ready by 7.30 am for briefing, etc.
What support can I get? Each day there will be vehicle support carrying lunches, water, etc. It will also take participants' luggage from overnight stops to the following days accommodation.
People will have to arrange their own transport to Twickenham (or the following days' start points) and from Stourbridge Rugby Club (or wherever they decide to finish).
Water and snacks will be provided to keep everyone hydrated and fuelled. Cotswold Outdoors are offering participants a 15% discount. There will be a support cycle mechanic following the route, however all cyclists will need to carry/provide as many spares as they can in case of punctures, etc.
Where will the ride go? The ride will start through the Players Tunnel at Twickenham Stadium and then head north on as friendly a route as possible. Cycling out of London is a bit of a challenge and, although we have a route planned, we will be reviewing early in 2019 by ‘riding’ this route to see if improvements can be made. Ideally, we would look for cycle paths/routes to avoid main roads acknowledging that ‘road bikes’ will generally be used for the journey. The ride will finish at Stourbridge Rugby Club in time for their May Lunch event on Friday 10 May. Anyone wanting lunch will have to be registered beforehand.
8 May- Wednesday
9 May - Thursday
10 May - Friday
